Turkmenistan and the UAE stated the importance of interaction between the ports of the two countries

The transport and logistics sector was named as a strategic vector of cooperation between Turkmenistan and the UAE at the talks between Presidents Serdar Berdimuhamedov and Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan in Abu Dhabi on Monday, November 21.
It was noted that the establishment of interaction between the ports of the two countries opens up new opportunities in the development of international transport corridors. In particular, they discussed the establishment of communication routes between the ports of Turkmenbashi and the ports of the UAE.
This intention was also reflected in the Joint Statement of Turkmenistan and the UAE, adopted following the summit meeting.

“The parties stated the important role of transport communications in enhancing bilateral economic cooperation and in this regard stressed the need for interaction between the international ports of Turkmenistan and the United Arab Emirates,” the statement says.
Mammetkhan Chakiev, Director General of the Agency for Transport and Communications under the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan, joined the government delegation accompanying President Serdar Berdimuhamedov to the UAE.
Earlier, in September 2022, the Transport and Communications Agency under the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan and Abu Dhabi Ports Group signed a Memorandum of Understanding.
Abu Dhabi Ports is a port, industrial and logistics operator in the UAE, operates 11 ports and terminals (container, general cargo, Ro-Ro, cruise), represents an integrated investment portfolio of economic zones, maritime, logistics and digital business, contributing to the growth of international trade.
