Water from the catchments of the new complex of drainage facilities near Ashgabat after clarification will be sent straight to the artificial lake Altyn Asyr to fill it.

This was told by the head of the Department of Hydraulic Structures of the Turkmen Agricultural University named after S.A.Niyazov Italmaz Saparliev in an interview with the Neutral Turkmenistan newspaper.

The expert spoke about the technical characteristics of the new structure, noting that the seismic resistance of the complex is designed for earthquakes of 9 points. The complex is a single system of 49 linear kilometers, 34 of which are fully concreted, includes modern digital and technical developments, including reservoirs for crushing impurities, filtration and obtaining clean water, as well as bridges and pumping stations.

The filling of 9 water basins should be enough to ensure the relief of mudflows — the consequences of prolonged heavy rains that take place in March-April.

At the same time, filling Altyn Asyr with fresh rainwater will reduce the level of mineralization of the lake, which will have a positive effect on the natural and economic oasis formed there.
