Germany is exploring the possibility of further cooperation in the automation of the Turkmen customs
Specialists of the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan and the Ministry of Trade and Foreign Economic Relations discussed with experts of the German Society for International Cooperation issues of further cooperation in the field of automation of customs processes.
This is reported by the official website of the Turkmen customs following the results of the videoconference negotiations.
As part of the discussions, a project on digitalization of international road transport procedures was presented, being implemented on the initiative of the German Ministry of Economy for the period up to December 2023.
Representatives of the Turkmen customs shared information on the current status of the TIR-EPD system, which allows carriers to declare goods and vehicles bypassing the services of customs brokers during transit through Turkmenistan.
