The plan for the construction of the TAPI gas pipeline (Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India) has already been developed and it can be implemented within 3-4 years, and the supplies through this branch will allow Pakistan to receive more than 35 million cubic meters of gas per day.
This was stated by the Minister of Oil of Pakistan Musadiq Malik, The Nation reports following the results of the Forum of Opinion Leaders on the issue of Pakistan's energy vision.
The Minister noted that there are no problems with the delivery of gas from Turkmenistan, adding that there is now a large gap between energy demand and supply in Pakistan, and local gas reserves are rapidly being depleted.
