German Businesses Aim to Expand Technological Presence in Turkmenistan
Talks were held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan between Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov and Michael Harms, Executive Director of the Committee on Eastern European Economic Relations (Eastern Committee of the German Economy).
The visit by the head of this prominent German economic association underscored the growing interest among German business circles in deepening practical partnerships with Turkmenistan. The discussions focused on attracting direct investment, transferring advanced German technologies, and intensifying engagement between industrial enterprises in both countries.
Key areas identified for long-term cooperation include the industrial sector, energy, the agro-industrial complex, and transport and logistics infrastructure. The participants highlighted the strategic importance of maintaining a regular dialogue with the Committee on Eastern European Economic Relations in identifying new growth opportunities for bilateral trade and launching joint high-tech projects.
