Students from the CIS were invited to free online courses of Russian language and culture of the Russian Federation


Starting from November 17, schoolchildren from CIS countries aged 11 to 17 years can attend open free online courses on the Russian language, history and culture on the basis of the Foundation for Support of Innovative Programs "Education and Science".
The project is aimed at improving the level of language proficiency, as well as improving competencies in such areas as history, literature and cultural studies. The initiative includes 20 courses and will last until the end of the year, the official Internet portal of the CIS reports.
Today, more than a million students and 4.1 million schoolchildren in the CIS countries receive education in Russian. Education and Science Foundation has initiated a series of intensive online courses in a variety of fields of knowledge - from phonetics, etymology of the Russian language and text content analysis to the culture of the "thaw" and the practice of working with literary sources in response to the growing demand for educational projects in Russian for foreign citizens.
Each of the 20 courses lasts 1 week, all of them will be placed on an electronic platform matetech.ru and after the online broadcasts will remain freely available.
"When launching the project, we sought to provide comprehensive support to schoolchildren from CIS countries in learning the Russian language, history and culture," comments the project manager, Associate Professor, Doctor of Philology Roman Krasilnikov. "The courses of the Education and Science Foundation are designed to help students generalize and systematize knowledge, improve the most important practical skills and provide psychological support for further study of the Russian language and Russian culture."
