The Co-Chairs of the Intergovernmental Turkmen–Russian Commission on Economic Cooperation, Deputy Prime Ministers Rashid Meredov and Alexey Overchuk, held talks in Ashgabat on Tuesday, discussing the agenda of the IPC meeting scheduled for December 6-7 in Moscow.

At the meeting, which was attended by the heads of a number of ministries of Turkmenistan and Russia, further actions were agreed to develop cooperation, including at the regional level of the two countries.

The parties discussed a wide range of topics, focusing on trade and economic contacts, partnership in the field of energy, transport and communication sector, as well as in the fields of industrial production and engineering, agriculture, etc. Traditional ties in the field of culture and education, science and medicine have not been ignored.

Earlier it was reported about plans to build a new building of the Russian drama theater in the Turkmen capital and create a Russian-Turkmen university in Ashgabat.
