Vladimir Putin: "You have made a huge contribution to the development of bilateral interstate relations"

Vladimir Putin presented Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov with the Order of Merit to the Fatherland, IV degree. The award ceremony took place on Thursday in the Kremlin during a meeting between the President of Russia and the Chairman of the People's Council of the National Assembly of Turkmenistan, kremlin.ru reports.
“You have made a huge contribution to the development of our bilateral interstate relations. This applies to all spheres of activity - both humanitarian and economic. With your immediate and direct participation, relations between Russia and Turkmenistan have reached a very high, practically allied level of strategic partnership.
With all these achievements in mind, we have decided to award you with the state award of Russia - the Order of Merit to the Fatherland, IV degree. This high award fully corresponds to the contribution you made to the development of interstate relations,” Putin said at the ceremony, presenting the order.

Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, in turn, noted that Turkmenistan and the Russian Federation "through time and life" proved the strategic partnership between the countries and that these ties are steadily strengthening and expanding from year to year.
“I would say that a person rarely has such significant and historical days - I received a high state award of the Russian Federation, which once again proves that the peoples of Turkmenistan and Russia have in fact always kept the bonds of good neighborliness and cooperation. And it is gratifying that you and I also made a historic contribution to these relations,” Berdimuhamedov said.
The Order "For Merit to the Fatherland" is the second most important state award in Russia after the Order of the Holy Apostle Andrew the First-Called.
