Turkmenistan was invited to participate in the SCO Council of Heads of Government


On Tuesday, November 1, the 21st meeting of the Council of Heads of Government (Prime Ministers) of the SCO member states was held in an online format. Premier of the State Council of the People's Republic of China Li Keqiang chaired this meeting, convened by Beijing, to which heads of government and representatives of member States and observer states, as well as heads of permanent SCO institutions, industrialists' committees, banking consortia, representatives of international institutions and organizations such as UNESCAP were invited.
Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan Khojamurat Geldymuradov took part in the meeting as a guest invited by the Chairman of the meeting.
The meeting stressed the importance of strengthening cooperation in the field of food and energy security, climate change, trade and investment, transport cooperation and the development of transit corridors.
It was noted that at the Samarkand SCO Summit, held in September this year, all parties reached a new consensus on the development of the SCO. The baton of chairmanship in the SCO Council of Heads of Government has passed to Kyrgyzstan.
