The head of the upper chamber of the Turkmen Parliament will speak at the plenary session of the Federation Council of the Russian Federation
The Federation Council and the upper house of the Parliament of Turkmenistan signed an agreement on the establishment of an inter-parliamentary commission on Tuesday, November 1. According to Valentina Matvienko, this will strengthen cooperation between states, including at the regional level.
The head of the Halk Maslahaty Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov noted during the bilateral meeting that the format of inter–parliamentary cooperation between Turkmenistan and Russia involves solving many different tasks, and the main mission of parliamentary diplomacy today is to serve as an instrument of peace, cooperation and mutual understanding.
According to Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, it is important to put a strict legislative barrier to any manifestation of extremism and terrorism. On Wednesday, he will speak at the plenary session of the Federation Council, the TV channel "Together-RF" reports.
Chairman Halk Maslahaty and Chairman of the Federation Council also exchanged memorable gifts. Valentina Matvienko was presented with a national jewelry – a magnificent tumar, and Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov was presented with a painting with a landscape of Russian nature.
