Turkmenistan was represented at the meeting of the Council of Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the Organization of Turkic States


Turkmenistan, as an observer country, took part in an extraordinary meeting of the Council of the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) in Istanbul, according to a press release from the Turkish MFA.
The meeting discussed topical issues of foreign policy, the global crisis, the critical importance of the development of infrastructure ties between the members of the OTS and the development of a free trade agreement.
The main topic of the meeting was the preparation for the summit on November 11 in Samarkand.
It was noted at the meeting that the trade turnover of the Turkic world with other states is more than $ 700 billion, and within the member countries - $ 20 billion. The participants expressed their commitment to the development of foreign economic relations and readiness to increase these indicators, as well as to find consensus on common global security challenges.
Turkmenistan and Hungary are observer countries in OTS.
