Turkmen hockey players will compete for entry into the second division of the Hockey World Championship
Turkmen hockey players are preparing for tournaments within the framework of the World Hockey Championship, during which the hockey "squad" of the country plans to enter the second division again.
The competitions will be held from April 17 to 23, 2023 in Cape Town, South Africa, with Turkmenistan's main rivals from Group "A" – the national teams of South Africa, Luxembourg, Thailand, and Chinese Taipei, Chairman of the Hockey Federation of Turkmenistan Jora Hudaiberdyev said in an interview with the Neutral Turkmenistan newspaper.
The exit from group "A" of the third division guarantees the team participation in group "B" of the second division of the 2024 World Championship.
So far, the Turkmen hockey players are training intensively – the upcoming national championship, which will be held in November, will be the decisive test for them.
