The goals of the Program to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in the economy were discussed in Ashgabat
The main objectives of the Program to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in various sectors of Turkmenistan's economy until 2030 were announced in the building of the UN mission in Turkmenistan during the interdepartmental meeting on the implementation of obligations under the UN Framework Convention (UNFCCC) and assistance in the implementation of the Paris Agreement on Climate, the Neutral Turkmenistan newspaper reports.
The key objectives of the Program were named:
– Energy conservation
– Improvement of energy supply in remote settlements
– Reduction of air pollution due to reduced burning of fossil fuels
– Introduction of new technologies
In accordance with the Program, several wind turbines will be commissioned annually in the country in addition to traditional production power capacities, which will provide the generation of tens of millions of kilowatt-hours of electricity.
