Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan can reach the volume of mutual trade of $1 billion – Tokayev


Expanded Turkmen-Kazakh negotiations at the highest level have begun in Akorda. President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev addressed a welcoming speech to President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov, the correspondent of MIA "Kazinform" reports.
"Your visit has historical significance. We have just discussed the most pressing issues of the development of our cooperation in a closed format. Thank you for your positive attitude to the issues on the agenda. I expressed my positive assessment of all your approaches and statements regarding the prospects of cooperation between our countries," Tokayev said.
He stressed the great potential of trade and economic cooperation between Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan.
"As for trade and economic cooperation, today we talked about how we could increase volumes through joint efforts," the head of Kazakhstan noted, adding that a list of goods that could enter the market of Turkmenistan has been prepared.
According to Tokayev, the trade turnover between the two countries can be significantly increased. "We could strive to achieve $1 billion in mutual trade," the President of Kazakhstan said.
