Turkmenistan offers sports "Friendship Games" and is ready to host them first
At the CIS summit held in Astana on Friday, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov proposed the creation of a coordinating committee for international sports games under the auspices of the CIS Council for Physical Culture and Sports – the "Friendship Games".
According to the idea of the Turkmen leader, the "Friendship Games" should be open so that athletes not only from the CIS countries, but also from other countries can take part in them. These competitions can be seasonal – summer and winter, they can be organized as youth and youth, in individual sports and in other formats.
Putting forward this proposal, Turkmenistan has prepared a detailed draft of the charter of the coordinating committee and hopes to support the initiative, and is also ready to host the first "Friendship Games", having good experience in hosting major international tournaments and modern infrastructure, Serdar Berdimuhamedov said.
