The delegations of five Central Asian countries presented at the forum in Almaty national action plans aimed at countering threats to peace and security, such as violent extremism and international terrorism, as well as including interaction with the UN and other international structures, the Neutral Turkmenistan newspaper reports.
Special emphasis was placed at the forum on the counter-terrorism direction and the creation of the necessary institutions for structural inter-organizational interaction and evaluation of Turkmenistan's proposal to establish a Program Office of the UN Counter-Terrorism Office in Central Asia.
In this context, the legislative framework of Turkmenistan, in particular the Law "On Countering Terrorism", was emphasized.
The Almaty Forum was held in a hybrid format with the participation of delegates and the broadcast of video messages of high-ranking officials.
