The Consul General of Turkmenistan and the head of the Tatarstan Parliament discussed the inter-parliamentary dialogue
Consul General of Turkmenistan in Kazan Guich Garayev met with Chairman of the State Council of Tatarstan Farid Mukhametshin to discuss topical issues of trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian cooperation, according to the website of the Consulate General of Turkmenistan in Kazan.
The head of the Parliament of Tatarstan noted that Turkmenistan is one of the key partners of the republic and stressed the high activity of the Turkmen national and cultural association as part of the Assembly of Peoples of Tatarstan.
During the meeting, the parties expressed mutual interest in expanding inter-parliamentary ties within the framework of the Russian-Turkmen dialogue, the proposal of which was made during the visit of Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Milli Gengesh of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov to Kazan, in connection with which the Consul General invited deputies of the Tatar legislative body to visit Ashgabat.
