China Daily: China's new vision aims to meet the global challenges of today
At a number of major international and regional events, China has unveiled a wide range of plans and measures to further promote global peace, progress, openness and cooperation, China Daily reported.
Thus, Chinese President Xi Jinping touched upon several global issues, including natural disasters, economic recession, food and energy crises, security issues, geopolitical conflicts and global development, at the opening ceremony of the BRICS business forum in Beijing.
At the High-Level Global Development Dialogue, President Xi Jinping also announced that China will upgrade the Fund for the Promotion of South-South Cooperation to the Fund for Global Development and South-South Cooperation and replenish it with $ 3 billion in addition to the already allocated 3 billion.
Xu Bu, President of the China Institute of International Studies, said that China's answers to the "questions of the times" are in the interest of the entire human community, focus on the theme of global development, and direct the efforts of the whole world to achieve peace and stability.
Today, China is an active player supporting international development based on South-South cooperation, the platform of the One Belt, One Road initiative, and seeking to help other countries achieve the UN 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, Xu Bu said.
Analyzing the impact of the One Belt, One Road Initiative, China Daily notes that thanks to it, there are highways in East Africa, and China-Europe freight trains ensure a stable and uninterrupted flow of goods in the global market.
