Turkmen scientists found a Jurassic fossil during geological exploration

Scientists of the Natural Gas Research Institute of the"Turkmengaz" state concern found a stone interspersed with prehistoric corals of the Jurassic period during geological work in the Kopetdag mountains, the website of the oil and gas complex of Turkmenistan reports.
The find has already been handed over to the State Museum of the State Cultural Center of Turkmenistan, where it will replenish the collection of ancient fossils.
The exhibit once again proves the existence of the prehistoric Tethys Sea, which washed a large area of Central Asia and the Eastern European Plain.
