The II Caspian Economic Forum will be held in Moscow on October 5-6


Russian Minister of Economic Development Maxim Reshetnikov held a meeting of the organizing committee for the preparation of the II Caspian Economic Forum, scheduled for October, in Moscow. This is reported on the website of the Ministry of Economic Development of Russia.
The event will be held in the Moscow Manege with the participation of the Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation Mikhail Mishustin, official delegations of five countries of the Caspian region - Azerbaijan, Iran, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan and Russia, who will discuss topical issues of cooperation.
The program of the "zero" day of the event includes visits by official delegations to a number of Moscow city infrastructure facilities, during which it is planned to demonstrate the functionality and effectiveness of the elements of the Smart City system implemented in the Russian capital.
The forum program will cover a wide range of topical issues in the field of "green economy" and sustainable development, transport and logistics, energy and tourism, economic, scientific, cultural cooperation.
On the first day, October 5, round tables will be held, the agenda of which will include the following topics: "The Caspian region as part of the greater Eurasian Partnership: new challenges and development prospects", "Cooperation in the field of transport and logistics", "A comfortable environment for life and business", "Caspian Partnership - protection of health and economy from epidemics".
The issues of the Caspian Sea on the climate track and energy projects of the "five", the promotion of scientific diplomacy, cooperation in the field of tourism and the preservation of cultural heritage will also be considered. Within the framework of the KEF, the Caspian Forum on Youth Entrepreneurship and Innovative Development will be held, the purpose of which is to assist entrepreneurs of the "five" countries in establishing bilateral business relations, creating a communication platform for business representatives of the participating countries to promote the best projects and exchange experience.
A meeting of the International Council of Business Cooperation of the Chambers of Commerce and Industry of the Caspian countries - "Business Caspian" is also planned. In addition, the Moscow government will hold a practical conference of mayors of cities and municipalities of the region.
On the second day of the forum, on October 6, a meeting of the heads of delegations of the participating states of the II Caspian Economic Forum is scheduled in a narrow format, which, in the light of the results of the VI Caspian Summit held in Ashgabat on June 29, 2022, will agree on priorities for cooperation in key areas. Following the meeting, documents will be signed.

The first Caspian Economic Forum was held on August 11-12, 2019 in the Turkmen Avaza. The event brought together leading representatives of the economies of five Caspian littoral countries – Azerbaijan, Iran, Kazakhstan, Russia and Turkmenistan.
The head of the Russian delegation, Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev announced from the forum rostrum that the next such meeting will be held in Astrakhan in 2021. However, subsequently, due to the coronavirus pandemic, the II KEF was moved to Moscow. It was decided to hold it on the International Day of the Caspian Sea on August 12, 2021, but these dates were also shifted.
