Chinese President Xi Jinping supported the Turkmen side's proposal to build the fourth line of the Turkmenistan-China gas pipeline during a meeting with President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov on the sidelines of the SCO summit in Samarkand, the official Turkmen press writes today.

At the meeting, the Turkmen leader took the initiative to hold the next meeting of the Joint Turkmen-Chinese working group on gas cooperation to intensify negotiations on the construction of the fourth line of the gas pipeline between the countries.

Turkmenistan is the largest supplier of pipeline gas to China. Now Turkmen blue fuel is exported to China through three operating lines. The fourth line will bring the total capacity of the gas pipeline to 65 billion cubic meters per year, experts say.
