The Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the countries of Central Asia and the member countries of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf adopted Joint Action Plan for 2023-2027, aimed at establishing cooperation in the areas of trade, investment, education, healthcare, culture and sports.

The participants welcomed the convening of the Strategic Dialogue in Riyadh and stressed the commitment to building strong partnerships between countries based on common values and interests.

Head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, Rashid Meredov, who took part in the meeting, noted that this meeting is considered by Ashgabat as the first important step towards creating a full-scale format of interaction between the regions.

Representatives of the GCC and the Central Asian countries expressed their interest in discussing the existing opportunities in the field of trade, investment, tourism and energy as a starting point for strengthening cooperation between the two regions.

The participants welcomed the proposal to host the first Economic Forum of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf and Central Asia in Astana in June 2023, as well as the initiative to hold the second Ministerial Meeting of the Strategic Dialogue in Samarkand next year.

As part of the visit to Saudi Arabia, the delegation of Turkmenistan will also hold a number of bilateral meetings, according to the website of the country's Foreign Ministry.
