The new Ambassador of Turkmenistan to the Republic of Korea has assumed his duties


The newly assigned Ambassador of Turkmenistan to the Republic of Korea, Begench Durdyev, handed copies of credentials to the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the country for Protocol Issues Ryu Jongyun on Wednesday.
At the meeting, the sides noted the positive dynamics of the development of bilateral relations in the main areas and noted the need to continue the practice of dialogue between the countries at the highest level.
During the talks, it was noted that communication between the leaders of the parliaments of Turkmenistan and the Republic of Korea serves as a solid basis for further strengthening relations between the countries, according to a press release of the diplomatic mission of Turkmenistan in Korea.
The President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov awarded Begench Durdyev the rank of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary and assigned him to the post of the AEP in the Republic of Korea in July this year.
The Embassy of Turkmenistan in Seoul was opened in December 2013. In January 2007, the Embassy of South Korea was opened in Ashgabat. Diplomatic relations between the two countries were established in February 1992. Turkmenistan has successfully implemented a number of landmark projects with the participation of major South Korean companies, including the gas chemical complex in Kiyanly.
