Green technologies became the topic of the meeting between the President of Turkmenistan and the Minister of Energy of the United Arab Emirates
President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov discussed on Wednesday with Minister of Energy and Infrastructure of the United Arab Emirates Suheil Al-Mazroui the cooperation in such a strategic area as energy.
Among the priorities for the development of this sector of the economy of Turkmenistan, the head of state named its diversification based on high technologies with the involvement of the best world practices in the mining and processing industries.
Noting the success of long-term cooperation with the UAE in this area, the President highlighted "green" energy, the development of renewable energy sources, its generation from the sun and wind as a promising area for new joint projects.
The Minister expressed the interest of UAE companies in participating in Turkmen energy and infrastructure projects, in partnership with Turkmenistan in the implementation of its economic and investment programs.
During the audience, the Minister conveyed to the Turkmen leader an invitation from Head of the UAE Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan to pay a visit to the Emirates.
In October 2021, Turkmenistan and the UAE signed a number of agreements and memorandums in various sectors of the economy, including in the field of investments, ports and energy, including the creation of a joint investment company between Turkmenenergo and Masdar.
