The President of Turkmenistan to visit Uzbekistan on July 14-15
President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov will pay a state visit to the Republic of Uzbekistan on July 14-15, according to the official website of the head of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
The leaders of neighboring countries will discuss the further development of Turkmen-Uzbek relations and the expansion of cooperation, the announcement says. A joint statement is expected to be adopted and a package of bilateral documents to be signed.
The key topics of the talks will be:
– increasing the volume of mutual trade,
– the establishment of industrial cooperation,
– the use of transport and transit potential,
– implementation of projects in the single-economic area,
– activation of interregional contacts,
– cultural and humanitarian exchange.
The program of the visit also provides for a meeting of the President of Turkmenistan in the Parliament of the Republic of Uzbekistan (Oliy Majlis) and sightseeing in the city of Samarkand.
On the threshold of the visit, the Turkmen-Uzbek scientific and practical conference was held in the capital of Uzbekistan, the first Forum of Regions, a meeting of the Business Council and an exhibition of leading enterprises of Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan are being held in the city of Bukhara.
