Visit of Gazprom management to Turkmenistan announced

Russia and Turkmenistan have specific agreements on cooperation in the energy sector, including the continuation of some contracts, and the leadership of Gazprom will soon come to Turkmenistan. This was stated by Russian President Vladimir Putin in Ashgabat at a meeting with a Russian pool of journalists after participating in the Caspian Summit, TASS reports.
He also noted that the work at the summit after a long “covid vacation” turned out to be very productive.
The Caspian Five will distribute competencies and establish cooperation, including in high technologies: “We agreed that we will choose these priority areas, distribute competencies among ourselves and, in accordance with these competencies, take steps to build such broad cooperation in the main areas, first of all in industry, in high technologies”.
The President of the Russian Federation also spoke of the new president of Turkmenistan, Serdar Berdimuhamedov, as a young but experienced figure.
“I want to congratulate Turkmenistan and the people of Turkmenistan on such a good choice. The new president is a young man, energetic, with a brilliant education and experience in government activities,” Putin said during a conversation with reporters.
The Russian leader added that he has "good and kind relations" with the president of Turkmenistan, who took over from his father.
Putin said that even during Serdar Berdymukhammedov's visit to Moscow, they had a "very useful, good conversation", in which a plan of concrete actions for the development of bilateral relations was outlined. According to him, this plan has already begun to be implemented.
“As for the former leader, Gurbanguly Myalikgulyevich, we have developed very good, friendly relations with him, and thanks to his efforts, bases have been largely created for the development of Russian-Turkmen relations, and cooperation continues, moreover, also through our energy companies, through humanitarian sphere, in the field of education, transport,” the President of the Russian Federation specified.
