Supreme Leader of Iran calls for expanding cooperation with Turkmenistan


Iranian Supreme Spiritual Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei called for expanding cooperation with Turkmenistan at a meeting with President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, the Mehr news agency reported.
He noted that the deepening of relations is in the interests of both countries, and the Joint Turkmen-Iranian Commission for Economic Cooperation should actively work on developing cooperation between the countries.
The Turkmen leader said that cooperation with neighboring countries is a priority for Ashgabat. This is confirmed by the bilateral documents signed today, reflecting the desire to expand the partnership between Turkmenistan and Iran in the field of natural gas and electricity supplies, strengthening transport cooperation and implementing large projects.
