Ashgabat and Tehran are ready to sign a document on cooperation for two decades ahead – Iranian President


Iranian President Ibrahim Raisi said that Ashgabat and Tehran are serious about developing relations and are ready to sign a document on cooperation between the countries for two decades ahead at a press conference following a meeting with Turkmen President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, the Mehr news agency reported.
Raisi also noted that the first visit of Serdar Berdimuhamedov to Tehran as President of Turkmenistan will be a landmark moment in relations between neighboring countries.
Recently, cooperation between Turkmenistan and Iran has reached a new level, especially in the field of natural gas transit, the head of the Islamic Republic of Iran said. There is potential for developing relations in the economy, trade, as well as in areas such as water use and electricity.
Today's talks have confirmed that Ashgabat and Tehran are mutually striving to develop relations, as evidenced by the signing of nine memorandums in mutual understanding in various fields, the President of Iran noted.
