Government commission on water supply established in Turkmenistan


President Serdar Berdimuhamedov at a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers on Saturday signed a resolution on the formation of the Government Commission for Water Supply of Turkmenistan.
Earlier, the head of state gave an instruction to create such a structure. It will be headed by Annageldy Yazmyradov, Deputy Prime Minister for Agroindustrial Complex.
The commission will include heads of the Ministry of Agriculture and Environmental Protection, the State Committee for Water Resources, the Supreme Control Chamber, scientific institutes, heads of regions and other responsible persons.
The activities of the commission will be aimed at the efficient and rational use of the country's water resources, replenishment of their reserves, coordination of work in the field of construction and management of water supply facilities.
This week, Serdar Berdimuhamedov also instructed to explore the possibilities of building desalination plants and supplying water from the Caspian Sea to Ashgabat.
