At the Turkmen-Russian talks, special attention was paid to energy
The declaration on deepening the strategic partnership between Turkmenistan and Russia, signed by the presidents of the two countries in the Kremlin on Friday, consolidated the priorities of joint work for the future in the political, trade, investment, cultural and humanitarian fields, in the field of security, including biological and information. This is how Vladimir Putin formulated the essence of the document, making a statement to the press following talks with Serdar Berdimuhamedov.
The Head of the Russian Federation noted that one of the key sectors of bilateral partnership is traditionally energy, which was "given special attention today" during the negotiations. In this regard, he named Gazprom, which cooperates with Turkmengaz on the organization of gas exports from Turkmenistan, LUKOIL, which is negotiating participation as an operator of the development of the Dostluk field in the Caspian Sea, Tatneft, which is engaged in the repair and maintenance of oil wells in Turkmenistan.
According to Putin, other major Russian energy and industrial companies – Inter RAO, Power Machines - are also showing interest in implementing projects in Turkmenistan.
"We are talking about the modernization and construction of new power plants, including using renewable energy sources, conducting high-voltage power transmission lines, transit and export of electricity," the President of the Russian Federation said.
Among the major joint projects in other sectors, Vladimir Putin mentioned the construction of ships, diesel locomotives for Turkmenistan, the supply of KAMAZ trucks, and the activities of the Russian company Vozrozhdenie.
