From June 1, vehicles of Uzbekistan and other foreign states are allowed to transit goods through Turkmenistan. This is reported by the Uzbek media with reference to the press service of the Ministry of Transport of Uzbekistan.

The route runs through the Farap checkpoints on the border with Uzbekistan (Alat checkpoint) and Serakhs with Iran.

Trucks must move through Turkmenistan in a convoy, which will be formed at a distance of 1 km from the borders of Uzbekistan and Iran. It starts to form from 8:00 in the morning.

The convoy will be accompanied by traffic police. For rest of drivers, refueling and maintenance of vehicles, special parking lots are provided. In the event of a malfunction or other problems during the movement, the car is taken out of the column. Law enforcement agencies, together with the Turkmen Road Transport Agency, will provide the driver with practical assistance in solving the problem.

For transit through the territory of Turkmenistan, it is necessary to comply with a number of other requirements and conditions.

Drivers must submit the documents required for transit through the border of Turkmenistan for special sanitation. Vehicles must be sanitized.

When crossing the border, you must present the results of a PCR test for COVID-19 (at least 72 hours in advance) or a certificate of vaccination against coronavirus (at least 42 days from the date of the last vaccination). Also, you must pass a rapid test for COVID-19 at the post.
