American business seeks to support Turkmenistan in the development and popularization of the game of golf, and also intends to strengthen cooperation in the field of sports in general.

This was discussed at the meeting of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov with Executive Director of the Turkmenistan-US Business Council Eric Stewart and member of the Board of Directors of Nicklaus Companies John Reeves on Tuesday, the official Turkmen press writes today.

Representatives of US business circles said that American companies specializing in the sports sector highly appreciate Turkmenistan's sporting successes and seek cooperation.

The meeting also discussed the intention of the business circles of the United States to invest in the development of the Turkmen economy, taking part in the implementation of large-scale projects and programs.

In 2017, with the participation of the Nicklaus group of companies, the Ashgabat Golf Club project was implemented in the south-west of the Turkmen capital. The country's first golf course covers an area of 70 hectares and is located near the Yildiz Hotel.
