Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov was awarded the Order of Merit for Tatarstan
Chairman of the Upper House of the Turkmen Parliament, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, was awarded the highest state award of the Republic of Tatarstan of the Russian Federation - the Order of Merit for Tatarstan, the official press writes today.
The award ceremony took place at the residence of the President of the Republic of Tatarstan on Thursday. According to the decree of the head of Tatarstan, the award was presented to the Chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty of the Milli Gengesh for special merits in strengthening friendship and cooperation between Turkmenistan and the Republic of Tatarstan.
At the ceremony, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov stressed that accepting this award is a great honor for him, which he perceives as a sign of great respect of fraternal Tatarstan for Turkmenistan and the Turkmen people.
The Chairman of the Upper House of the Turkmen Parliament noted that today Turkmenistan and Tatarstan are cooperating in the widest sector of areas, and Ashgabat is ready to continue developing mutually beneficial bilateral partnerships in all sectors.
