Tax legislation to be updated in Turkmenistan
The improvement of national legislation in the field of tax policy was discussed at a meeting of the Turkmen government on Thursday. As Chairman of the Mejlis Gulshat Mammedova and Deputy Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty Kasymguly Babayev informed President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, work is underway in the chambers of Parliament in contact with experts in the financial and economic sphere to update a number of laws, including taxes, investments, enterprises, joint stock companies, leasing, entrepreneurship, as well as the Customs Code.
Deputy Prime Minister Mukhammetguly Mukhammedov, in turn, reported on the implementation of the instruction that the head of state gave at the previous meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers on updating the national tax system in accordance with the realities of the time and preparing proposals for amendments and additions to the Tax Code of Turkmenistan.
Serdar Berdimuhamedov, summarizing the report, stressed the role of effective tax policy in the development of the economy and social sphere and instructed the Deputy Prime Minister to carefully analyze and finalize proposals for the modernization of the Tax Code in order to then submit them for consideration by the Cabinet of Ministers.
Mukhammetguly Mukhammedov also reported on the planning of the State Budget projects, the main directions of socio-economic development and the Investment Program of Turkmenistan for 2023.
