The Turkmen leader congratulated compatriots on Day of the Constitution and the State Flag
President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov congratulated compatriots on the 30th anniversary of the adoption of the Constitution and the establishment of the State Flag, the official Turkmen press writes today.
In a short historical period, the constitutional structure has been improved in Turkmenistan and laws have been adopted that ensure the harmonious and sustainable development of society, the head of state emphasized in his message.
A new system of state authorities and administration was formed in the country, a new bicameral legislative body was created - the Halk Maslakhaty and the Mejlis of the Milli Gengesh of Turkmenistan. All this increased the international prestige of the country as a state with a developed political and legal system, the Turkmen leader emphasized.
Day of the Constitution and the State Flag is celebrated in Turkmenistan on May 18, which is declared a day off in the country.
On the eve of the holiday, a scientific-practical conference “30 years of the Constitution of Turkmenistan: a new historical era and modern experience in legislative activity” was held in Ashgabat.
