The Presidents of Turkmenistan and India held talks


Turkmen President Serdar Berdimuhamedov and Indian President Ram Nath Kovind held talks in narrow and broad formats in Ashgabat, according to the official Twitter account of the Indian leader.
Issues of bilateral and regional cooperation, including within the framework of the India-Central Asia format, were discussed at the meeting.
As a result of the talks, four memoranda of understanding were signed in the presence of the presidents, which relate to cooperation between countries in the field of prevention and elimination of emergency situations, financial monitoring, culture and youth policy.

These are the first high-level talks between Turkmen President Serdar Berdymukhammedov since taking office on March 19. It is also the first ever visit of the President of India to independent Turkmenistan, which will last until April 3.
