The heads of the foreign ministries of Afghanistan's neighboring countries agreed to hold regular meetings of special representatives on the Afghan issue and set up three working groups.

An agreement on this was reached at a meeting of the foreign ministers of Turkmenistan, China, Russia, Pakistan, Iran, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan in Tunxi, China, in the eastern province of Anhui, the press service of the Chinese Foreign Ministry reports.

The working groups will work in such areas as politics and diplomacy, economics and humanitarian issues, as well as security and stability.

The neighboring countries of Afghanistan have decided to continue to provide humanitarian assistance to the Afghan people, to contribute to the economic recovery and independent development of the country, and to strengthen regional cooperation.
