Ashgabat is hosting a two-day workshop in a hybrid format dedicated to improving the Turkmen anti-trafficking legislation (ATP) and aimed at raising awareness of local professionals about the latest trends, best practices, and challenges in this area.

The event was organized by the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), the USAID Safe Migration Program in Central Asia, and the USAID Governance Improvement Program.

The seminar was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Turkmen Parliament, the Office of the Ombudsman, as well as public organizations involved in combating human trafficking.

The event is aimed at familiarizing participants with international experience in developing anti-trafficking policies, discussing, and reviewing national legislation, as well as coordinating efforts to implement the National Action Plan of Turkmenistan to Combat Trafficking in Human Beings for 2020-2022.
