Turkmenistan will build open switchgears at the Noor Al-Jihad power plant in the Afghan province of Herat, which will increase the volume of Turkmen electricity supplies to Afghanistan.

To do this, the construction concern of the Ministry of Energy of Turkmenistan "Turkmen energo gurlushyk" will conclude a contract with the Afghan company "Da Afghanistan Breshna Sherkat". The corresponding resolution was signed by President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.

Within the framework of the contract, the Turkmen concern will have to design, build and test the operation of new switchgears, ensuring the purchase of the necessary equipment.

The contract should also contribute to the implementation of the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan (TAP) power transmission line project, the text of the Turkmen leader's resolution says.
