On Monday, the price of Brent oil exceeded $130 a barrel for the first time since 2008, when the global economic crisis hit the world.

The historical maximum price for Brent oil was also recorded in July 2008 and amounted to $147.5 per barrel. Thus, the current cost of black gold has approached record values in the history of trading. One of the main reasons rising prices are fears that the United States may stop buying Russian oil against the backdrop of events in Ukraine. Despite this, the White House opposes this measure, as it could lead to too sharp an increase in energy prices.

In addition, analysts expect difficulties with the supply of black gold in the European direction due to the unstable economic situation in the region.
