Foreign Ministers of the Russian Federation and Turkmenistan signed joint documents on cooperation


Ashgabat aims to further develop and expand relations with Moscow. Turkmen Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov stated this on Tuesday at the opening of talks with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, TASS reports.
He noted that there is close political and diplomatic cooperation between Russia and Turkmenistan, effective trade and economic cooperation, and cultural and humanitarian ties are developing.
Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov expressed hope that a "good package" of documents would be agreed upon at the end of the sixth Caspian summit in Ashgabat.

“Of course, another topic that unites us among many others is the Caspian Sea. Preparations for the sixth Caspian summit in Ashgabat are entering the homestretch, we hope that this year in hospitable Turkmenistan we will be able to get together and make the decisions that are now under negotiations,” TASS quoted Lavrov as saying.
“We perceive the negotiation process in the same way, and I am sure that we will be able to agree on a good package of final documents,” the minister stressed.
Following the talks between Sergey Lavrov and Rashid Meredov, joint documents were signed - a roadmap for cooperation between countries on regional security issues, a plan for implementing the main directions of Russian-Turkmen cooperation in the field of ensuring international information security for 2022-2025, as well as an action plan dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Russia and Turkmenistan.
