The vectors of the foreign policy course are outlined
President Berdimuhamedov, speaking at an expanded government meeting held within the framework of the Halk Maslakhaty, on Friday gave a number of instructions to Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov.
Thus, the Turkmen leader noted the importance of expanding cooperation with interested countries, authoritative international and regional organizations on a mutually beneficial and equal basis.
In particular, they discussed the strategic partnership with the UN. In this context, it is necessary to carry out purposeful activities to promote the initiative of Turkmenistan "Dialogue is a guarantee of peace" in the Community of Nations and its subdivisions.
In the process of implementing transport, energy, and environmental diplomacy, it is necessary to continue close contacts with such international and regional organizations as the OSCE, the CIS, the Non-Aligned Movement, the WTO, the ECO, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, etc.
The Turkmen leader instructed Meredov to pay special attention to further strengthening ties with neighbors in the region and neighboring states, with which a productive dialogue has been established. In this regard, ensure the implementation of the tasks formulated in the Joint Statement adopted by the heads of the Central Asian states at the Consultative Meeting (Turkmenistan, 2021).
The priority direction remains constructive interaction with the countries of the Caspian region, with which, as the head of state pointed out, it is necessary to develop new methods and areas of partnership. In particular, it is necessary to ensure a high level of holding the VI Summit of the Heads of the Caspian States, which is scheduled to be held this year in Turkmenistan.
The progressive building up of a comprehensive dialogue with the countries of America, Europe and the Asia-Pacific region is topical. Moreover, work must be carried out not only at the state level, but also at the level of ministries and departments.
