The market of paid services in Turkmenistan: State Statistics Committee develops evaluation methodology


Experts of the State Statistics Committee of Turkmenistan have held an online meeting with representatives of the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP).
During the meeting possibilities of rendering of consulting support in evaluation of volume of paid services rendered to the population by the small and medium enterprises were discussed.
The statistics of paid services to the population reflects laws and tendencies of development of the consumer market of the country, the characteristic of its infrastructure and regional features.
As it was marked, small and medium business of Turkmenistan is an important part of its economy and social sphere, and also one of the key components in realisation of programs of development of the country, creation of new workplaces, formations of competitive environment. Without participation of subjects of business it is difficult to imagine today the activity of variety of branches, including trade, public catering, transportations, building sector and the sphere of services.
Experts of the Turkmen State Statistics Committee and ESCAP have exchanged opinions on improvement of the methodology of conduction of selective inspection of paid services according to the internationally recognised standards and advanced practice.
As experts, regional adviser on official statistics Jan Smit and Pinar Ucar responsible at Statistical Institute for Asia and the Pacific for economic statistics and SDGs spoke the regional adviser for the official statistics.
The topicality of the considered themes is stipulated by those tasks which are defined for statistical system of the country for 2022 in the Presidential Program for Social and Economic development of Turkmenistan for 2019-2025».
