Russia to send 10 thousand doses of “Sputnik Light” vaccine to Turkmenistan

In total, supplies of vaccines against coronavirus infection from Russia to Turkmenistan amounted to about 600 thousand doses, Russian Ambassador to Turkmenistan Alexander Blokhin said during a press conference in Ashgabat.
The diplomat noted that at the moment they are preparing to send 10 thousand doses of the Sputnik Light vaccine, which, according to the Turkmen Foreign Ministry, was registered in Turkmenistan on December 23.
– I very much hope that 10 thousand doses of “Sputnik Light” will be delivered by the flight that will arrive in Turkmenistan today, it is free of charge. Russia and Turkmenistan have complete mutual understanding on these issues, which is very encouraging.
The representative of the Russian Federation also showed awareness of the rate of vaccination in Turkmenistan. According to him, about 80% of the population has been fully vaccinated in the country.
– These are very good indicators. For example, in Russia these figures are around 60%. I know that the Turkmen side plans to bring the level of vaccination to 90% - it would be great, it is at the level of the best countries in the world, Blokhin said.
