Business overview: 8 tenders, trade with Iran and antivirus remedies of indigenous production
Last week, eight tenders were announced in Turkmenistan from the Ministry of Energy, the Ministry of Construction and Architecture of Turkmenistan, SC “Turkmenneft”, SC “Turkmengeologiya”, Turkmenbashi Oil Processing Complex, “Turkmenturba” OJSC, Eni and Tatneft.
Turkmenistan stands ready to expand trade relations with Iran, plans to build an enterprise for the production of antiviral medical products, as well as expand areas for planting agricultural crops, which are in high demand among the population.
For large business: Ministry of Construction and Architecture of Turkmenistan announced an international tender for the construction of the workshop for the production of glass containers with a capacity of 100 tons per day. The Ministry of Energy has extended the tender for the provision of consultancy services for the construction of a hybrid solar-wind power plant with a capacity of 10 MW in the Balkan region.
For small business: Eni Turkmenistan Limited will purchase software for the distribution of production by wells and its maintenance. Tatneft is looking for a contractor to repair electric motors.

During a telephone conversation the President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhammedov and President of Iran Ebrahim Raisi emphasized the importance of developing trade and economic cooperation between the two countries. “The efficient measurements have been taken to reinforce border relations through the efforts of the two countries leaders” – noted Ebrahim Raisi.
The second power transmission line from Turkmenistan to Iran has been launched. The agreement on increasing the supply of Turkmen electricity to Iran was reached during the 16th meeting of the Joint Economic Commission in Tehran.
The enterprise for the production of glycyrrhizic acid with antiviral properties, will be built in the structure of the agro-industrial complex "Buyan" in Lebap. The project was developed by the Turkmen Ministry of Health in cooperation with the Italian company Adipson Ind. Srl.
The specialists of the agricultural industry and regional administrations of Turkmenistan have prepared proposals to reduce by 40 thousand hectares of areas currently allocated for cotton in favor of growing potatoes and other vegetables and melons.
The Government of Turkmenistan and Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) have signed documents, providing for the introduction of satellite technologies in agriculture in the country, increasing the efficiency of livestock farming and mechanization of cotton harvesting.
The State Bank for Foreign Economic Affairs of Turkmenistan, as the founder of the Closed Joint Stock Company "Turkmen Investment Company" (Türkmen maýa goýum kompaniýasy) will take an equity participation in the amount of 50% of the fixed capital of its fund.
The OPEC Fund for International Development (OPEC Fund) has approved the allocation of $45 million in credit for the “Maritime Merchant Fleet” project in Turkmenistan. It will include the construction of three new vessels for the transportation of railway wagons, passengers and dry cargo.
