Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan open two checkpoints on the border

On Thursday, transport and customs services of Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan carried out a test cargo transportation in the neutral zones of two border checkpoints, whose work should resume from November 26.
Through checkpoints will be organized regular contactless road cargo transportation. We are talking about checkpoints of “Kunyaurgench-Khojeyli” and “Dashoguz-Shavat” which closed in 2020 due to the coronavirus pandemic. They should become an addition to the existing checkpoint across the border “Farab-Olot”.
For the organization of non-contact transportation of trailers and semi-trailers, the checkpoint will be resume in compliance with all sanitary and epidemiological standards. The agreement on this reached during online video conference of the Turkmen-Uzbek working group on transport and logistics on November 18.
