Digitalization of handicraft trade was discussed by businessmen and IT-entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan


An online meeting “Digital Solutions for Handicraft Trade”, organized as part of the annual Global Entrepreneurship Week (GEW) by the USAID Future Growth Initiative and “Orlan” for business representatives and IT developers, was held on Friday, November 12.
During the conference, the potential of the market for handicraft trade in Turkmenistan and beyond, opportunities for digital transformation of handicraft trade, as well as business models that can help manufacturers and aggregators of handicraft products to use all the opportunities of the modern market were discussed.

The event became a platform for building business links between representatives of the craft and handicraft aggregation business, e-commerce platforms and exporting enterprises, on the one hand, and software products already initiated within the “Handmade Online» Hackathon (held in July), on the other hand.
Also, the online conference tried to provide additional opportunities for young software developers in Turkmenistan: their partnership with enterprises and provision of services for them, launching their own startups and access to new career opportunities.

The meeting was attended by representatives of the handicraft trade in Turkmenistan, companies and entrepreneurs interested in handicraft trade, software developers, e-commerce platforms in Turkmenistan, IT companies and IT entrepreneurs, service providers and experts, and media representatives.
