Turkmenistan expands the trade and economic dialogue on neutrality principles


President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov during his visit to the Republic of Turkey after the opening of a new building of the main office of headquarters of the Organization of Turkic States together with heads of delegations headed by yacht to one of the archipelago islands in the Sea of Marmara.

The voyage did not occupied a lot of time for the so-called Princes’ Islands (or Kyzyladalar - Red islands), are located in the distance hardly more than ten kilometres from the centre of Istanbul.

There, on the Island of democracy and freedom the motorcade headed to the five-star hotel Katre Island.

In the famous hotel, actors who recreated in their traditional costumes a scene of ancient ceremony of meeting especially esteemed people welcomed the honoured guest.

Here again President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, as always, was very warmly met by his Turkish colleague Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
Soon after that within the precincts of the Katre Island Hotel there was held a meeting of the delegations headed by leaders of two Turkic states.

By the structure of delegations it was possible to guess that the basic themes of negotiations were, besides interaction in the political sphere, cooperation in trade and economic (energy plus business contacts), scientific-educational (with accent on ecology and public health services) and transport-logistics spheres.

Speaking at the meeting of high level, President Berdimuhamedov noted that the decision of Turkmenistan to join the Organization of Turkic States as an observer marks the beginning of qualitatively new stage of interaction with the states of the Turkic world.
Based on principles of the neutral status in the international relations, Turkmenistan considers it as the major priority of its foreign policy to expand the trade and economic dialogue.
