Serdar Berdimuhamedov heads the Turkmen delegation in COP26 in Glasgow


Deputy-chairman of the Cabinet Serdar Berdimuhamedov heads the Turkmen delegation of high level, which participates in the climatic summit of the United Nations, which is held this year in the Scottish city of Glasgow of the United Kingdom.
The 26th Conference of the parties of the Frame Convention of the United Nations on climate change (COP26) unites world leaders and visible political leaders of many countries in the dialogue about the future of the planet, joint and national actions on decrease in rates of global warming.
Turkmenistan supports the consolidated approach to problems of this plan, accepting from its part concrete steps for protection of environment and aspiring to bring a contribution to development of international cooperation on such vital direction for all humankind.
So, Ashkhabad has proposed to open in the country the Regional centre for technologies connected with climate change in Central Asia. President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov put forward earlier from tribunes of the largest forums the initiative on development of the Water strategy of the United Nations and the special Program of the United Nations for the Aral, preservation of ecosystems of the Caspian sea.
Along with it, the country successfully solves ecological problems at national level, including on creation of large forests, reclamation of land struggle against desertification. An example of efficiency of large-scale tree planting work became wide "green" belts round cities of the country every year replenishing in millions of new saplings.
In present, 2021 marked by the 30th anniversary of independence of Turkmenistan, their quantity makes up 30 million. Last year, in honour of the 25th anniversary of neutrality of Turkmenistan as a whole in the country 25 million saplings were planted.
In tree planting campaigns ministries and other organisations, administrations of regions and the capital participate. Such significant help is supported by the National forest program, as a part of ecological and climatic strategy of Turkmenistan and the major aspect of social policy of the state.
