The President of Turkmenistan familiarised with infrastructure of Ashkhabad-Tejen motorway
President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov on Friday drove on the new high-speed highway connecting the Turkmen capital with the city of Tejen, the opening of which marked the end of the first stage of building of Ashkhabad-Turkmenabat autobahn.
The project for which the state allocated 2, 3 billion US dollars, is realized by the member of the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs - closed joint-stock company «Türkmen Awtoban». The full route of Ashkhabad-Turkmenabat autobahn with a length of 600 kilometres will be accessible by the end of 2023.
Throughout the highway objects of technical and social service with systems of electronic payments, and also a mode of constant video observation and application of solar batteries for road illumination are provided.
At the opening ceremony of Ashkhabad-Tejen autobahn top-managers of Austrian company VCE Vienna Consulting Engineers ZT GmbH and the professor of transport economy of German University zeppelin who informed on assignment to Ashkhabad-Turkmenabat autobahn certificates of quality of designing, building and high safety spoke online.
Chairman of the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan Dovran Hudayberdiyev informed President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov on the control system of autobahn, including service of road supervision and safety.
The head of the state visited the Control centre where he familiarised with functions of all services, and then personally, at the wheel of the car drove on the new road, having given a start to movement on the 203-kilometre high-speed highway from Ashkhabad to Tejen.
On the highway the President stopped off, during which time chairman of board of directors JSC KAMAZ Sergey Tkachenko suggested the Turkmen leader to make test drive of one of the last workings out of the company - new model of the trailer with coupling with refrigerator.
Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, having covered at the wheel of the new model of «KAMAZ» a part of the highway, then discussed with Tkachenko characteristics of the dimensional car, having estimated its automated control system, comfort for the driver, profitability and ecological compatibility of its operational parameters. Speaking about advantages of the new car "KAMAZ", the President noted possibility of acquisition of such cars for Turkmenistan.
During his trip on the new highway, Berdimuhamedov made one more stop - on the 100-th kilometre of the autobahn, near city Artyk. Here the head of the state examined the shopping centre including a supermarket, the children's game centre and food court. For drivers it is also provided a motel there.
